Cape Town (Days 3-4)

Day 3

Hout Bay was on the agenda for today, the weather was cloudy in the morning so we thought we'd check out the Harbour Bay Market, we arrived early so we're one of the first people in, we wandered around the stalls and checked out the food stalls where we shared a juice.

We then stumbled across a line for a boat trip to seal island so we jumped on board, thankfully I packed my sea bands! The seals smelled pretty bad when we were down wind! We then took out the bat and ball on the beach for a while before finding a cute cafe for lunch.

We went to a Pick n Pay (like a Tescos) and got some ham and bread for tea. We decided we'd 'walk' up Lions Head which turned into clambering up the rock face! We started on the dangerous rout by accident (which involved using metal rails to scale the rock face 700 meters high) but thankfully were pointed in the right direction on the 'easier' way up. When we got to the top we found a place to sit and watch the sunset while eating our picnic.

Day 4

After falling asleep super early post Lions Head we struggled to get up, but finally a clear morning meant Table Mountain was waiting. We headed over and after an hour wait we were on the cable car going up. We decided to do the 45 minute walk around the top... this sign posted walk took 2 hours! Possibly a wrong turn was taken or very inaccurately estimated! Stunning views from the top but overall we both preferred Lions Head for if you can only do one (table mountain is easier as more just a rocky path, Lions Head is more an incline but no cable car)

After the extended and unexpected walk we were in a rush to get to our next destination, Stellenbosch. We arrived st Webersberg wine estate and were shown to our cottage, we decided to have a go on the tennis courts and Adrian taught me the basics, we then relaxed in our cottage for a while before going got dinner at the local Cattle Baron, we asked for some bread and were given two slices of brown sliced bread to share... safe to say we were a little concerned at this point, we got a chimmichuri steak each which was delicious followed by espresso and a Dom Predro.
