Adventures in Cape Town (days 1 -2)

We started off our round the world trip in London Heathrow sadly with an hours delay, but we got on the plane and set off for Cape Town international on November 1st 2017. The flight was okay but neither of us were able to get a good nights sleep, surprisingly we made the most of our first day in South Africa even if we were a little sleep deprived.

We arrived at Maria and Douglas' in seapoint and planned our next couple of days, we decided to venture to Boulders Beach in Simon's town to tick off seeing the African penguins off my bucket list. The weather was not on our side and our shorts and tshirts were slightly optimistic as is was windy and rainy all morning, we still enjoyed seeing the penguins and had lunch at the cafe.

Later that day we got home we went to check out the V&A waterfront before heading back to the house for a delicious dinner with Maria and Douglas.

Day 2

We let ourself have a bit of a lie in (until 10am) as we were knackered from our busy first day. Again the weather was not our friend and it was was cloudy and rainy - apparently very unusual for Cape Town at this time of year. So we decided to take shelter at the Two Oceans aquarium at the V&A waterfront, we saw the penguin feeding and the divers in the ocean tank, where we saw their loggerhead sea turtle Yoshi and two green turtles which are being rehabilitated there.

After Adrian saw a sign for 'Cave Golf' naturally we had to check it out. For R20 for the two of us it was a fun way to stay indoors and I showed Adrian how to get a hole in one. We decided to get lunch in the V&A food market (of course) which was so fun and highly recommend so many delicious foods available, I had a half lamb half pulled beef flatbread with mushrooms, feta and rocket and Adrian had a steak wrap, we shared a WOW juice which was apple orange pineapple lemon and carrot so delicious! That late afternoon we headed to Camps Bay, we bought a bat and ball and played on the beach with Table Mountain in the background, such a stunning beach highly recommend. I sketched a little and we dipped our toes in the icy water before heading back. We went back to Camps Bay for dinner at Hussar Grill which Kate and Nath recommend, very delicious fillet steak!
